Information about hypnotherapy;
A brief description of hypnotherapy;
HYPNOTHERAPY; Started with Witch doctors and faith healers and later on Franz Mesmer, (
1734 to 1815 ), this is where we have obtained the phrase 'Mesmerized', then we
jump to James Braid, ( 1795 to 1860 ), who coined the term, 'hypnosis', ( hypno,
being the Greek word for sleep ), Sigmund Fraud, ( 1856 to 1939 ), Dr. Milton Erikson,
( 1905 to 1980 ), not wishing to omit my favourite's, Adler & Jung, ( both
students of Fraud ), and each drew his own conclusion about Frauds works as one
was 'subjective' towards Frauds teaching while the other was 'objective'
Hypnotherapy? What do you expect when you come along to see me? Maybe you think
that we 'hynotherapist's' would give you some subliminal suggestion's? Or you
may think that you cannot be hypnotized? Well you can be hypnotized, if you want
to, you would go into a trance, ( this is similar but not the same as sleep...
it's much deeper ), and there we can alter your sub-conscious thoughts and make
positive suggestions for your own beneficial needs. We can regress you, take you back
to a previous life, whether this is real or just in your mind is of no
consequence as long as the process is beneficial to you. You would be taken back
to before a certain problem started and work back up to the current time, but this is only done for your benefit and I don't do this for
fun as that belittles the name of hypnotherapy nor do we, in the BSCH., do stage
hypnotherapy as this too degrades our hypnotherapy, ( we member's of the BSCH
have to sign a contract to say that we will not do this ), that's our thought's
anyway! We don't see this as a game!
We all know that some believe in prayer and crystal's or even stone's, but I
feel they all have the basis of hypnotherapy because they all carry
suggestions.... "here.. take this crystal and it WILL heal you...",
it's all about the power of suggestions and that's what makes up hypnotherapy,
suggestions and positive thought's.
